ABOUT OUR CLUB
Gstaad Mountain Readers was founded in January 2009 to increase our appreciation of English language literature while building relationships in the Alps.
MEETINGS
When: Last Friday of every month, except July and December (or if there's a conflicting holiday).
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:45 PM (2 to 2.5 hours)
Location: Generally hosted by the member whose book choice is being discussed. Meetings in quiet restaurants or pubs are occasionally acceptable.

Book discussion (60 minutes)

Book Selection and Purchasing
Books must be available in English, fiction or non-fiction (no sci-fi or poetry)
Less than 450 pages
Cost no more than CHF 20 (paperbacks and Kindle versions preferred)
Can be read in any language, but discussion is in English
Members choose books on a rotation basis
Selections should be emailed to the secretary at least six months in advance
Purchasing Books: We encourage members to support local and online book retailers. Here are some recommended options for purchasing books at local bookstores:

Membership
Maximum 16 active members
Guests, spouses, and potential new members may attend at the host's discretion. Please email our secretary for info.
Open to English-proficient individuals with ties to Saanenland/Pays d'Enhaut
Interested individuals should email the secretary to join the waiting list

Attend even if you haven't started the book

No membership dues
Annual December cocktail party (partners included)
Occasional social "Lady's Night" and other events (organized by individuals who come up with the idea)
